Sri J. K. Khetawat is the founder chairman of Rameshwara Group of Companies. Born in 1941, Sri Khetawat pursued his preliminary education at the eminent St. James School, Kolkata.

Sri R. S. Goenka is the Joint Chairman of Emami Group of Companies. Born in 1947, he did his Master of Commerce and LLB degrees from Calcutta University. With a brilliant academic record, he has always among the toppers during his educational career.

Agarwal, his childhood friend, he started own venture by setting up a cosmetics and toiletries unit under the brand name 'EMAMI' in the year 1974. This unit had such a phenomenal growth that within a short span of 4/5 years, EMAMI became a household name through out the country and today it is competing with multinational giants in the field of cosmetics and toiletries.
In the year 1977-78, they took over HIMANI LTD, a sick unit having a turnover of mere Rs 23 lakhs and converted it into a vibrant enterprise. In the year 1998, the two Companies-EMAMI LTD and HIMAMI LTD were merged under the name EMAMI LTD, which now has factory in many States of the country having a turnover of about Rs250 crores per annum. One of its products 'BOROPLUS ANTISEPTIC CREAM' is the market leader in Antiseptic Cream Group, enjoying more than 47% market share.
Under the able leadership of Sri R. S. Goenka, Emami Group took over another sick unit BENZO CHEM PVT LTD., and converted it into a healthy unit.
In the year 1983-84, Emami Group promoted EMAMI PAPERS MILLS LTD in Orissa with a capacity of 20 TPD which was subsequently expanded making it a most sophisticated paper mill with an annual capacity of 32000 and expected turnover of Rs 100 crores. A captive power plant with 5 MW capacity has lakhs been added in this Mill in 2000.
In the year 1993-94, Emami acquired another sick paper mill, GULMOHAR PAPER LTD and with their able leadership, the said unit has also turned the corner with a capacity of 12000 tonnes per annum and the turnover of Rs 30 crores.
In the year 1995, Sri R. S. Goenka established a ball pen tips factory in the name of CRI LTD under swiss technical collaboration. The present outlay in this unit is about Rs 17 crores. But with expansion which is in progress, the total outlay will be Rs 30 crores. It is the biggest unit manufacturing world class quality tips in Eastern India. 40% of its production is being exported to various countries including the Western Countries.
In the year 1996, Emami Group jointly with Shrachi Group participated in revival of a close and sick health care unit into a full-fledged multi specialty hospital in the name of ADVANCED MEDICARE & RESEARCH INSTITUTE LTD, having 160 beds and all the diagnostic facilities in joint sector with the Govt. of West Bengal. This hospital is considered to be one of the best hospitals in Kolkata. Further expansion of this hospital with an outlay of Rs 50 corers is being taken up for putting up super speciality in Gastroenterology, Oncology and Neurology.
Further a software company employing more than 200 technologies has been recently taken over.
Sri Goenka has also been associated with construction of various duplex and super duplex residential, commercial and residential and commercial complexes in Kolkata. At present he has completed construction and development work on 655000 sq. ft. and around 811000 sq. ft. is under construction. Some renowned construction works include Ideal Plaza, Sneha Garden, Orbit Place and Orbit Park. Sri Pradeep Sureka, younger son of Sri B. D.
