Sri J. K. Khetawat

Sri J. K. Khetawat is the founder chairman of Rameshwara Group of Companies. Born in 1941, Sri Khetawat pursued his preliminary education at the eminent St. James School, Kolkata.

Sri Khetawat started his career as a partner under the aegis of Bharat Roadways and thereafter founded Rameshwara Transport Limited (now know as RTL Logistics Limited- a pre-eminent service provider to some of the most reputed domestic and multinational corporations of India

Sri Khetawat pioneered his real estate development in the 1980s with the construction of Rameshwara Apartments on Sarat Bose Road, Kolkata. Notwithstanding his recent entry into the real estate industry, developments done under the management of Khetawat Group of Companies- already adorn the city’s skyline. Some of his recent development includes Metro Towers, Garden Apartment, Dewadwar, The Residency, Hi- Tech Chambers, Tolly Gardens and The British Deputy High Commission. Sri Khetawat’s current real estate projects located at varying part of the city have all been conceived with a strong product driven focus – well suited to varying socio economic segments of the society. His plans also call for taking his wide experience in this industry to do similar developments in other developing cities of India, namely Bangalore. He has executed over 9 lac sq. ft. of construction covering residential, commercial and industrial projects and 4.35 lac sq. ft. of real estate project is in pipeline.

Also  part of South City Group. He is a driving force and executed about more than 5 million sq. ft of  companies which consists of  South City Residential Complex, South City Mall South City Pinnacle, South City Galaxy and iconic Altair at Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Not complacent with his success in the real estate industry, Sri Khetawat went about to jointly promote GOPALA POLYPLAST LIMITED. (GPL) a leading manufacturer for packing material for cement industry. Sri Khetawat’s strong business understanding has contribute to the rapid growth of GPL from a turnover of approx Rs. 60 crores in the year 2000 to more than 100 crores as of March 2002.

Sri Khetawat also jointly led a group of businessmen to acquire EASTERN SPINNING & INDUSTRIES LIMITED, Kolkata from Aditya Birla Group of Companies and continues to guide the company through active participation on its Board of Directors.

As a business notable – Sri Khetawat contribute his management acumen to several city based and national industrial and social organization namely Confederation of Real Estate Developers and Loins Club and is the current president of City Developers Forum. Sri Khetawat has also had active participation in several leading transportation industry representation at the national level.
